One for the "Happy Birthday Mickey Rooney" post on the I.S.C.A.'s Let's Draw Thread and then some character concepts I'm playing with. Also a prelim sketch for a "Denzel" painting.
Mickey Rooney is really great! I like your renderings so much and your sensitive feeling for shapes in greyscale. One thing though, you have forgotten the shadow on the eyeball from the eyelashes. Especially his left eye ;-)
nice stuff. an interesting take on Denzel. he does have a very weird thing he does with his mouth i notice in all his movies, it's cool to see you captured that.

Thanks Will...you've noticed that too. It's sort of a trademark quirk, he's doing it in the ref photo the sketch is based on.
