Paul Newman

One more guy that personified cool leaves us...he definitely did not have a "failure to comunicate"!!!

*Updated post with a pencil sketch that's a bit more of a stretch and a more refined version of the "portrait"!
*Updated 10/08/08 with final version "Young Newman"...although I could probably finesse it's time to walk away.

I really like this one, UV. Young whippersnappers like me forget how striking he was when he was young, and I think you really captured that!

Thanks Nephew!!! He was definitely a handsome "mutha"...but he didn't come off as a pretty boy model, just a regular guy!

Oh! It's He! Its lips, their eyes, their glance. Fantastic!
I wants to give a tribute to this great actor, too. I'll study your work. Cheers.

I have to admit, i saw W.I.P. and thought "West in Peace" and laughed about your irreverent sense of humor and then finally realized I'm just a dumb ass.

Thanks again my friend...you're always too kind!

Hahaha...I actually was going to make the title "Paul Newman R.I.P./W.I.P." but changed my mind...now I wish I did, so who's the dumb ass now ;)

Yes, may he rest in peace.
Awesome caricature, and the Audrey one below is beyond sweet.
Cheers to your skill,

PS. this post is not a kind reply to your comment, I just had no time to browse lately, and today seems to be the day when I check other people's work :)

This is outstanding Vin!! It has a spot on likeness complimented by a masterful blend of exaggeration. Very well done.

As I've said twice already (worth saying again), that sketch is beautiful. Love it!

it's hard not to admire Paul Newman for putting his money to work in such productive ways, such as his Newman's Own line--high quality stuff and the proceeds go to good causes... very smart.

He was absolutely one of a kind...he could've amassed a huge fortune but it turn used it to help others...you don't get better than that!!!
